Waypoint was launched in 2010 with 130 people and met in an elementary school. By 2016 attendance had increased to 340.
God blessed the church with a wonderful property in a great location across from a high school, next to a public park, and one block from Main Street. After much prayer, church leaders purchased the property for only $315,000 and raised $250,000 in pledges to complete a remodel.

Waypoint leaders focused on two keys areas: community relationships and family (children and youth). They have adopted local schools, helping with fundraisers and other activities. They also volunteer for other key organizations in the community. Many have come to faith in Christ through those relationships.

Since moving to their new building, the church has grown even more, averaging around 400 people. Lead Pastor Tim Zakarian said, “Waypoint has been a total miracle from God. Though the past two years of remodeling have been very hard, God has been so faithful. I held on to the promise of Galatians 6:9, ‘Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.’ God is always faithful to keep His promises. We just need to stay faithful to follow Him.”
