DES MOINES, IOWA – Teresa (Teri) Beyer has announced her retirement as Secretary/Treasurer for Open Bible Churches, effective June 30, 2017. Having served Open Bible Churches in this position since 1997, Teri has built a record of loyal and distinguished service.

President Randall A. Bach said, “Teri Beyer is a uniquely gifted woman of God. Her intellect is impressive. Her literary breadth and command of vocabulary is stunning. Her legal training and mind are sharp and penetrating. Her capacity to quickly learn and master new knowledge is remarkable. However, if those would be the only attributes Teri possessed she would be merely a brilliant and skilled person. The foundation that anchors Teri is her relationship with the Lord. Her sensitivity to the Holy Spirit enables her to see and speak into situations beyond what natural ability would permit. Teri’s servant’s heart empowers her to serve sacrificially with joy. It has been my privilege and joy to serve with Teri. Open Bible has been blessed to have Teri Beyer as our secretary/treasurer. Well done!”

Teri was the first woman to serve on Open Bible’s National Board and the first lady to serve as a national officer. She handled Open Bible’s legal matters, oversaw the administration department (including church affiliations, ministers’ credentials, translation of official documents into Spanish, personnel, and the computer system), provided seasoned counsel to Open Bible leaders, pastors, and other ministers, and participated on a team to again revise and rewrite the Policies and Principles. Teri also assisted many churches in writing or updating their bylaws.

“For the past 20 years it has been my great privilege and joy to serve Open Bible Churches in the position of secretary/treasurer,” Teri said. “During that time I have worked alongside two incredible presidents, Jeff Farmer and Randall Bach, for which I will always be grateful.”
