Pastor Raul E. Escalante, recently appointed director of the East Sector (Southeast, East, and Central Regions) of Hispanic Ministries was appointed to a two-year term as a member-at-large of the National Board of Directors of Open Bible Churches, effective September 1, 2015.

President Randall Bach said, “Pastor Raul Escalante’s voice is heard and respected by both Hispanics and Anglos. His spirit is warm, his joy is gentle, and his heart is caring. I also value Raul’s love for Open Bible Churches and his team spirit. He brings a valuable perspective to the national board of directors.”

Raul is lead pastor of First Spanish Open Bible Church in Sunrise, Florida, and is a member of the Southeast Region board of directors. He and his wife, Dora, who is also credentialed and serves as associate pastor of Sunrise, are originally from El Salvador. Both accepted Jesus as Savior in 1979 at the Open Bible church in Hialeah, Florida. A 1993 graduate of Inste Bible College, Raul has served as an INSTE (Institute of Theology by Extension) facilitator since 1995.

“First and foremost, I would like to thank God for the great privilege of having been selected by the president and national board to be a member of the National Board of the Open Bible Churches,” Raul said. “This opportunity represents to me a great responsibility and commitment to serve with integrity and loyalty. I am dedicated to carry on the vision of the Open Bible Churches with excellence for the Kingdom of God.”

Raul and Dora are the parents of three children, Raul Jr. (who died in 2003), Daniel, and Jose. We welcome Raul’s voice on the national board!
